Atmos Energy Corporation, is one of the USA's largest natural- gas-only distributors, serving about three million natural gas distribution customers in over 1,400 communities in eight states. Atmos Energy also provides natural gas marketing and procurement services to industrial, commercial and municipal customers and manages company-owned natural gas pipeline and storage assets, including one of the largest intrastate natural gas pipeline systems in Texas.
With so many customers at their disposal, Atmos Energy wanted better insight into their exception cases across the SAP IS-U landscape and to reduce call handling times and efficiently resolve their exceptions.
How did we help?
Working closely with Atmos Energy, Basis Technologies implemented BDEx to manage their large volumes of customer data enabling them to deliver better service for their customers and improved revenue recovery.
They also use Torch, a simple add-on solution powered by the award-winning Node5 Diffuser, which allows you to model and analyze changes to tolerance margins before any configuration changes are made.
What was achieved?
The back-office personnel at Atmos Energy are extremely pleased with the unique customer-centric view of exceptions and BPEM cases across the SAP IS-U landscape. This central, unified view of all issues relating to an account, along with the ability to solve issues quickly, has resulted in a reduction of average call handling times and improved efficiency of exception resolution.
Torch has enabled Atmos to make informed decisions, avoid any unnecessary work back-log, and to identify key areas of configuration refinement in order to reduce exception related workload.
Atmos Energy won 'US Large Enterprise Project of the Year at the 2013 SAP Best-Run Utilities Awards - a testament to their high performing SAP IS-U systems.
